HeroClix has been clicking dials since 2002, and WizKids is marking the 25th birthday by aiming straight back at the beginning. DC HeroClix: 25th Anniversary Set was announced on Monday and reaches shops in March 2027, built around retro sculpts and gameplay that echoes the Hypertime set the game launched with.

Take a hit, click the dial, and the character's stats shift as they wear down. A figure starts a fight very differently to how it ends one. That single idea has carried the line for a quarter of a century.
The anniversary set is unapologetically nostalgic. According to ICv2, boosters hold five miniatures alongside character cards and a mix of object tokens, terrain markers or one-shot cards, with two Ultra Chase figures to hunt down and new Legacy cards arriving as brick toppers. A Booster Brick holds twelve packs and retails for $227.88.

A set designed to feel like 2002 is a fairly direct pitch to anyone who drifted away from HeroClix somewhere in the intervening years. The clicking dial remains one of the more distinctive ideas in miniatures gaming, and an anniversary box built to look like the one you first opened is a decent excuse to find out whether it still lands.
