The Official Cyberpunk Trading Card Game just will not stop. The Kickstarter campaign has surged past $17 million from nearly 25,000 backers, and there are still eleven days left on the clock. It broke the all-time crowdfunding record for tabletop games at around $15.5 million barely a week ago, surpassing the Cosmere RPG's $15.1 million, and has since added another $2 million with no signs of slowing down.
For those who missed the initial coverage, this is a physical trading card game set in the Cyberpunk 2077 and Cyberpunk: Edgerunners universe. Developed by WeirdCo in collaboration with CD Projekt RED, the game weaves dice into its card play in a way that sets it apart from most TCGs. Instead of whittling down life points, you complete contracts called "Gigs" to earn dice. Accumulate six or more Gig Dice and hold them at the start of your turn, and you win. A resource system built around "Eddies" (the in-game currency) and a "Street Cred" mechanic that gates your most powerful cards round out the design.
The campaign launched on 17 March and hit its $100,000 goal in five minutes flat, then crossed $8 million in the first 24 hours. Head designer Richard Zapp has said the team already has over five years of expansions mapped out, which suggests WeirdCo is building this as a long-term competitive TCG, not a one-and-done collector's product. The entry-level pledge starts at $49 for two pre-built starter decks and dice, with collector tiers running all the way up to $8,000.
With eleven days remaining and the campaign averaging over $800,000 per day, $20 million is well within reach. Rewards are scheduled to ship Q3 2026. Whether you are a Cyberpunk fan, a TCG player, or just someone who enjoys watching crowdfunding records get demolished in real time, this one is worth keeping an eye on.
