The designer behind Star Wars: Rebellion, Twilight Imperium 4th Edition, and Battlestar Galactica has made a cosy game about putting stickers on a board. And reviewers cannot stop talking about it.
Cozy Stickerville, designed by Corey Konieczka and published by his studio Unexpected Games, is a cooperative legacy game for 1-6 players that plays out across 10 "years," each lasting 30-60 minutes. Over the course of the campaign, you stick over 800 stickers onto a village board, building houses, farms, shops, and landmarks while following branching story beats. You can fish, explore mines, pursue romance storylines, even get married. There is no way to lose, which will delight some players and give others pause, but the branching stories are more fun when someone at your table is arguing for a different outcome. Every sticker is a permanent record of the choices your group made together.
GamesRadar's tabletop editor Benjamin Abbott called it his favourite game of 2026 so far, comparing it to a "choose-your-own Stardew Valley." That lines up with the Our Board Game Life review, where the reviewers said they "bloody loved every minute" and were "really sad when it ended." Dale Yu at The Opinionated Gamers gave it his highest rating and noted something rare: his entire group was genuinely invested in finishing the story, with different players championing different village storylines.
The game sits at 8.5 on BoardGameGeek, which is remarkable for something this accessible. At $39.99, the double-sided board gives you two full campaigns without needing a refresh kit, and a total playtime of 6-12 hours makes it manageable for groups that struggle to commit to longer legacy games.
Konieczka spent 14 years at Fantasy Flight designing some of the hobby's heaviest hitters. Channelling all of that into something this warm and approachable is no small thing. If your group has been after a cosy campaign to play between heavier fare, find a game night near you and give this one a go.
