If you have ever watched Container sell for silly money on the second-hand market and quietly wished you had bought it years ago, this one is for you. Allplay is bringing the cult economic game back in a new compact edition, and it is open for preorder now at a price that will not require a second mortgage.

Set up your group for freeContainer first landed in 2007 from Valley Games, designed by Franz-Benno Delonge and Thomas Ewert, and it has a reputation that far outstrips its plain looks. It is a purely economic game for 3 to 5 players where you build factories, manufacture goods, set prices and ship containers across the sea to sell them. The twist that has kept it talked about for nearly two decades is that there is no bank driving the economy: every price, every bit of supply and demand comes from the players at the table, which makes it feel gloriously cut-throat. Long out of print, good copies have been changing hands for hundreds of pounds.
Allplay, the studio known for turning beloved games into affordable, well-produced editions, offers a Standard version at $39 and a Deluxe at $99 with metal ships and containers, plus an optional expansion at $19 and a playmat at $49. Play time for the new edition runs around 60 minutes. The reprint came through a bumper Allplay crowdfunding campaign earlier in 2026, and copies are now open for preorder direct from the publisher.
