Brass: Pittsburgh Releases Full Rulebook During Gamefound Campaign

Brass: Pittsburgh, the third game in the Brass series, has hit a significant milestone in its Gamefound campaign. Roxley published the complete rulebook on 10 April, giving backers and curious onlookers the chance to read through every rule before the campaign closes. With over $6 million raised from more than 25,000 backers, this one has already proven its demand.

Publishing the full rulebook mid-campaign is a smart move. Brass games are not light fare, and potential backers deserve to know exactly what they are getting into. The differences from Lancashire and Birmingham are collected on the last page, making it straightforward to see what Pittsburgh brings to the table.

Martin Wallace designed the original Brass back in 2007, and the series has only grown in stature since. Brass: Birmingham, co-designed by Wallace with Gavan Brown and Matt Tolman and published by Roxley, has held the number one spot on BoardGameGeek. Pittsburgh has a lot to live up to, but the campaign numbers suggest the community is confident.

Beyond the rulebook, Roxley also revealed a dedicated Brass: Birmingham 2-player map. This is not just a trimmed-down version of the standard board. It includes significant changes, with an additional pottery location and rule modifications tailored specifically for two-player play. For Birmingham fans who mostly play at lower player counts, that is a welcome addition.

The campaign appears to be in its final stretch. If you have been on the fence, the rulebook is right there waiting for you.
