Of all the co-op games on Kickstarter this month, none commits to a bit quite like Antifascist Tooth Fairy. It is a kinetic dexterity game where you and your friends take turns firing a little fist, mounted on an elastic string, to physically topple cardboard baddies across the table.
Stop juggling Meetup, WhatsApp, and spreadsheets. One platform for your gaming group's events, RSVPs, and member management.
See how it worksHere is how a turn goes. A new card comes out on a stand, small, medium or large, and you draw back the elasticated fist and let fly. The small stands tip over easily, the big ones are gloriously stubborn and need a proper wallop. Land your hits and you collect teeth, which you spend to wipe off the police charges that build up every time you start swinging. Throw more than three punches in a turn and the heat doubles, so it is not pure button-mashing: you are weighing risk against reward while everyone cheers the table-rattling shots. Knock down nine baddies together and the group wins.
It plays two to five, with room to squeeze in more, runs about 30 to 45 minutes, and is the work of designer E.V. Debs out of Seattle. For all the provocative name, reviewers have found it a light, tongue-in-cheek bit of fun rather than a lecture, with the UK's Board's Eye View framing it as a test of dexterity and aim rather than deep strategy.
