After selling out last year, the York Board Games Convention is back for a third year and getting bigger. The community-run show returns to St Peter's School in the centre of York from 23 to 25 October 2026.
Stop juggling Meetup, WhatsApp, and spreadsheets. One platform for your gaming group's events, RSVPs, and member management.
See how it worksThe draw is a proper long weekend of gaming: open tables with a big free-to-borrow library, expert-led roleplaying sessions including Dungeons & Dragons, a stack of tournaments and a convention-wide treasure hunt running across the whole site. Last year filled the hall to capacity, so the 2026 edition adds more gaming space and longer opening hours to keep up. It's grown quickly under founder Ryan Willis and co-director Matt Coward-Gibbs, and this year brings Hachette Board Games, Alley Cat Games, Asmodee and Osprey Games along too.
One detail families will like: under-16s get in free. Full ticket prices land when sales open, but early-access buyers get first dibs at noon on 4 June 2026, with 20 per cent off for the first 24 hours, so it pays to be on the list.
