Unearth Returns From Out-of-Print With $106K Kickstarter Win

Good news for anyone who has spent the last two years failing to track down a copy of Unearth at sensible money. Brotherwise Games' Kickstarter for the 10th Anniversary Edition closes today (7 May 2026) at $106,625 from 1,838 backers, well over its $30,000 goal, bringing the cult dice placement game back into print.

Unearth is a dice placement and set collection game for 2-4 players from designers Jason Harner and Matthew Ransom, originally released at Gen Con 2017. Each player has five dice (a d4, three d6 and a d8), and on every turn you roll them into ruin sites to claim cards or stones, which you then build into wonders for points. The clever bit is the bend-your-luck twist: low rolls aren't wasted, they trigger ruin effects that can swing the table. The base game sits at 6.89 on BoardGameGeek and has been out of print since 2023.

This Complete Edition rolls everything into one box: the base game, the Lost Tribes expansion, and a brand new expansion called Buried Lords. Stretch goals also unlocked a co-op mode during the campaign, which is a first for the line. The art and graphic design have been redone from scratch, although the dice-pushing core stays where it belongs.

Stop juggling Meetup, WhatsApp, and spreadsheets. One platform for your gaming group's events, RSVPs, and member management.

If you want a copy, the Kickstarter is the only place to get the Anniversary edition with all the extras together. Once it closes tonight you'll be waiting for retail. Got a group that loves a 30-to-60-minute filler with a bit of bite? This is one to put on the shelf. Time to dust off the dice tower and round up your group.
