Trickerion 10-Year Anniversary Closes 8 May at €651K

The Trickerion: Legends of Illusion 10-year Anniversary Edition Kickstarter from Mindclash Games is in its final week, with the campaign wrapping up on 8 May after raising €651,530 from 8,301 backers, roughly thirteen times its modest €50,000 goal. If you're a fan of crunchy worker-placement games, or you've eyed Trickerion from afar for years, this is your last week to grab the definitive edition.

Designed by Richard Amann and Mindclash CEO Viktor Peter, Trickerion launched in 2015 and built a reputation as one of the heaviest, most rewarding worker-placement games on the market. It's a Victorian steampunk affair where 2-4 magicians plot, hire assistants and pull off increasingly elaborate stage tricks across two to three hours of brain-burning planning. Its signature twist is a split between a planning phase (where you secretly assign tricks) and a performance phase (where you execute them with limited workers), which gives it the puzzly bite that fans of Lacerda's Lisboa or On Mars will recognise. The game has held strong on BGG for a decade.

The Anniversary Edition bundles the base game with all three previous expansions (Dahlgaard's Academy, Dawn of Technology and Dahlgaard's Gifts), plus the new Arcane Arts expansion. Arcane Arts adds four supernatural workers, the Specter, Golem, Trickster and Shapeshifter, recruited via a new Arcanist board. There are also Enchantments that permanently modify your tricks, and Arcane Shards as a more powerful resource alternative.

For existing fans, a separate Upgrade Pack lets backers who already own the Collector's Edition or Big Box fold in the new content seamlessly without making their existing copy redundant. That's the kind of fan-friendly approach that keeps Mindclash's loyal following coming back. The €78 average pledge across 8,300 backers suggests plenty of upgrade-buyers as well as new converts.

If you've been meaning to dust off Trickerion or take the plunge for the first time, the campaign closes 8 May. Once it's done, you'll be waiting for retail copies and paying retail prices. Time to round up the group for a long Sunday afternoon of stage magic and worker shenanigans.
