Black Armada is bringing one of the more uncomfortable premises in tabletop roleplaying to UK Games Expo 2026: what happens after the most powerful hero in the world decides to take charge? The Big H asks players to step in as the leftover heroes who watched their idol corrupt themselves into a political ruler, and now have to build a resistance to take them down.

Set up your group for freeOriginally published as a chapter in The Gauntlet Codex, Black Armada's new zine-format standalone gives The Big H its own polished edition, with layout by Oli Jeffrey and art by Jesse Ross. It is a story-driven game leaning into character drama rather than dice-heavy combat: your hero spent years admiring this person, fought alongside them, and now you have to decide whether you can dismantle the regime they built without losing what is left of yourselves.
If that hook lands, Black Armada will be at stand 3A-407 from 29-31 May running free one-hour demo sessions, with pre-registration available online. Alongside The Big H they are bringing returning titles Lovecraftesque, Carnival Tenebris, Ex Tenebris and Speed Daemons, which makes their stand one of the better places at the NEC to actually try a story game rather than just buy one.

Start organising for freeIt is a small release from a small studio, but it is also exactly the kind of game UKGE does best: an idea you would never find on a Spiel des Jahres shortlist, given a proper showcase. Heading to the show? See who else is going to UKGE and plan your weekend.
