Tag Team: Arthur's Legacy Adds Six Camelot Fighters

Tag Team, the two-player auto-battler that plays like a deck-building arcade scrap, is heading to Camelot. Scorpion Masque has revealed Tag Team: Arthur's Legacy, a new set of six fighters drawn from Arthurian legend, and UK pre-orders are already open through Hachette Boardgames UK ahead of a 21 October 2026 release.

If you missed the original, Tag Team is a head-to-head duel where you draft a team of two and chain their unique decks together. Cards flip and resolve automatically, fighting-game style, and the skill is in how you slot new cards into your deck between rounds without reshuffling what you have already set up. The base game, released in 2025, picked up a Dice Tower Seal of Excellence, so the line has form of its own. It also comes from Scorpion Masque, the studio behind Sky Team, which won the 2024 Spiel des Jahres and was the first two-player-only game to take the prize in the award's 45-year history.

Arthur's Legacy brings Morgan, Merlin, The Dragon, Perceval, The Green Knight and Excalibur to the roster, each with their own abilities and synergies. It is a standalone box, so you do not need the original to play, but the fighters mix in with the other Tag Team sets if you want a deeper pool to draft from. Designers Benoit Turpin, Corentin Lebrat, Florian Sirieix and Gricha German are all back.

At £17 for a 20-minute, two-player game, it is an easy one to keep by the kettle for a quick best-of-three. The Arthurian theme gives the cast a bit more flavour than the original's brawlers, and Merlin versus Excalibur is a fight that writes itself.

If you have been meaning to find a regular two-player sparring partner, there are plenty of groups on Backseat Gamer.
