Since launch, Star Wars: Unlimited has treated your base as the one thing on the table you cannot improve. Homeworlds, the game's ninth set, changes that in October, and it does it by handing the Empire a planet killer.

Find events near youThe headline is Fortify, a new keyword that lets you attach upgrades to your base rather than to a unit. That alone reshapes deckbuilding, because the base has been the one board position nobody could improve. Then there is Grand Moff Tarkin, who leads one of the set's two Spotlight decks and does something no leader has done before: at nine resources he deploys as the Death Star itself, gains Fortify, and can instantly defeat any base sitting on 10 or less remaining health. Games that used to grind to a slow finish now have a guillotine hanging over them.
The other Spotlight deck belongs to Chewbacca, a Command and Heroism leader who lets any friendly unit attack even while exhausted. That plays beautifully with Ewoks and with anything carrying an On Attack ability, and it is a far more aggressive Rebel plan than the aspect usually offers.

See how it worksHomeworlds brings over 260 new cards and leans hard into its theme, with four Common bases per primary aspect carrying traits such as Tatooine, Naboo, Endor and Kashyyyk. Two token types arrive with it. Beast tokens are chunky 3 power, 3 health units that are harder to generate than the tokens you are used to, while Weakness tokens work as the mirror of Experience, stacking up on enemy units to weaken or finish them.
October is not far off, and a new set is always the friendliest moment to pick this game up, because everybody is relearning it at the same time. If your local shop is running events around the release, it is a good excuse to get a group together.
