See how it worksThe base game is a well-loved asymmetric strategy game where each player guides a Trek civilisation across a galaxy you build outward from your home system, exploring, expanding and clashing as space gets crowded. The Final Frontier adds three new playable powers as Gamefound exclusives: the reptilian Gorn, the crystalline Tholians and the sinister Terran Empire from the Mirror Universe. The bigger additions are a new Campaign Mode with linked scenarios and Non-Player Civilizations, the latter finally giving Ascendancy a proper solo option and a way to add extra opponents. This is Gale Force Nine's third crowdfunding effort after its Firefly 10th Anniversary edition and The Adventures of Conan.
The project funded on Gamefound with a pledge manager opening soon and a 2026 release, and it tends to turn up on UK shelves at the likes of Zatu.
