Two decades after the first Red Dragon Inn cracked open, SlugFest Games is rolling out the tenth numbered entry to retail on 30 July 2026. If you've never played, Red Dragon Inn is the lightly chaotic card game (think Munchkin's drunker, meaner cousin) where your adventurers finish a dungeon run and then try to drink, gamble and brawl each other unconscious back at the tavern. The tenth edition is a big box of fresh chaos.

Start organising for freeThe headline change is Boss Otto Mode, an automated villain run by a dedicated deck that triggers attacks, minion spawns and phase shifts as the card flow dictates. It works as a solo experience or as a co-op battle for 1-4 players. That's a genuine first for a series that has always been ruthlessly competitive. Pub Crawl sends your party between different taverns when certain cards get flipped, and Dungeon Training adds two dungeon maps for pre-game skirmishes that earn party-wide bonuses before the drinking starts.
Six new adventurers are along for the ride, including Trapmaster Alaric (a sneaky snare-layer) and Oozwald the "Normal" Adventurer (a regenerating blob). The full roster of Karl Bookhammer, Dominique the Resourceful, Eisinder the Frozen Flame and Dark Priestess Valeria rounds out the cast.

SlugFest has confirmed it works standalone or mixes with any existing Red Dragon Inn expansion. The Kickstarter last year drew 4,847 backers and over $417,000, confirming there's plenty of life in the franchise.
If you've been away from the tavern for a while, the solo Boss Otto mode is the hook to circle back. Get your adventuring party ready for a Friday night in late July and rally your regular crew on Backseat Gamer.
