Bandai already runs two of the biggest trading card games on the planet, and next week it points that machine at Naruto. The Naruto Card Game makes its world debut at Gen Con 2026 in Indianapolis, where the very first public tutorial sessions will teach anyone who fancies it how the thing actually plays.

Find events near youThis is Bandai Card Games, the same outfit behind the One Piece Card Game, which became a genuine phenomenon on release, plus the Dragon Ball Super, Digimon, Union Arena and Gundam card games. So the pedigree for turning a beloved anime into a competitive TCG is about as strong as it gets. Naruto, Masashi Kishimoto's ninja saga, is one of the best-selling manga of all time, and this is Bandai's first new Naruto card game in over a decade. The publisher ran an official Naruto Collectible Card Game from 2006 until it wound the line down in 2013, so a fresh Bandai take is overdue. There is one big unknown, though: Bandai has not shown how this one actually plays, beyond calling it a strategy-focused title, so the tables at Gen Con will be the first proper look at the mechanics.
The game runs free beginner tutorial sessions in Event Room 121 across the show, from 30 July to 2 August, using demo decks that stay at the table. If you are going, this is a genuine first-in-the-world moment, and the gift set alone is a draw: a Gen Con exclusive CP-001 Chakra Card, a backpack, a sticker and a voucher for an official playmat.

The full worldwide release is not planned until 2027, and Bandai says more tutorial sessions are coming to events around the world before then. So this is an early look rather than a launch you can buy into today. If you play the One Piece card game and have wanted Bandai to give Naruto the same treatment, the wait finally has a finish line, and the first cards are about to hit tables.
