For the first time since they were printed back in 2007, all five of Magic: The Gathering's original planeswalkers share a single set. Reality Fracture, revealed at the MagicCon Amsterdam preview panel, brings Jace, Chandra, Ajani, Garruk and Liliana back together, and then hands each of them an eerie double.

Start organising for freeThose five, the so-called Lorwyn Five, were the game's very first planeswalkers, so seeing them lined up again is a nostalgia hit for anyone who has played over the past two decades. The wrinkle is the Echoverse. The set's story has Jace Beleren remaking the multiverse into his own idea of perfection, a reality scrubbed free of old villains like Nicol Bolas, the Eldrazi and Phyrexia. That rewrite spawns warped alternate-reality versions of the other walkers, so you get the familiar Chandra alongside her Echoverse counterpart, and so on. Jace, the architect of it all, turns up in his own Echoverse guise as The Theorist.
For players, that means a set built around the superfriends and Commander crowd, with a Multiverse Reforged Commander deck arriving alongside the main boosters. Reality Fracture lands on 2 October 2026, with prerelease events running from 25 September and MTG Arena getting the cards on 29 September.
