Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 was one of 2025's biggest role-playing games, a sprawling medieval-Bohemia epic that has sold more than six million copies since its February 2025 launch. Now that world is heading to your table. Czech Games Edition (CGE) has announced Kingdom Come: Deliverance – The Board Game, and the designer pairing behind it is the real headline. Tomáš Holek teams up with Vlaada Chvátil, the mind behind Codenames, Through the Ages and Galaxy Trucker, for the first time.
Stop juggling Meetup, WhatsApp, and spreadsheets. One platform for your gaming group's events, RSVPs, and member management.
See how it worksIt is a strategy game for 1 to 4 players built around deck-building and card-based skill tests, with the euro-style systems and player freedom you would hope for from a Chvátil design. You guide a hero through five in-game days in 15th-century Bohemia, tackling side quests, encounters and branching city storylines that play out differently each time. CGE reckons on roughly 90 minutes per player, so a full four-player game is a proper evening's undertaking.
There is a neat symmetry here. Warhorse Studios, which makes the video game, and CGE, which publishes Codenames and Through the Ages, are both based in Prague, so this is very much a Czech homecoming for the licence. Chvátil won the Spiel des Jahres for Codenames in 2016, and Through the Ages remains a fixture on plenty of gamers' shelves, which makes his involvement the reason many people will give this a look regardless of the source material.
