Mistborn RPG Lands September After Cosmere's $14.7M Kickstarter

The Mistborn tabletop RPG lands in September 2026, Brotherwise Games has confirmed, becoming the second campaign setting for the record-breaking Cosmere RPG one year after its Stormlight Archive debut. If you're a Sanderson reader who has been waiting for ash-storms and Allomancy at the table, you finally have a date.

Brotherwise's Cosmere RPG is the most-funded tabletop game in Kickstarter history, pulling in $14.7 million in 2024 on the back of Brandon Sanderson's enormous fanbase. The Stormlight Archive setting launched digitally in 2024 and in hardcover last year, and Mistborn was always part of the long-term plan. The new book covers the original Final Empire trilogy, with players burning metals as Allomancers, sliding on coin-shod feet across rooftops, and trying very hard not to die in the ash.

There is more incoming alongside it. The Mistborn deckbuilding game will get a Well of Ascension expansion in November 2026, adding over 100 cards, four new playable characters including Vin and Kar the Inquisitor, and a co-op Siege of Luthadel mode. A Stormlight solo mode is also in the works, with future Cosmere sourcebooks promised for Elantris, Warbreaker and the Worldhoppers.

The d20-based Cosmere system has been well received so far, picking up an Origins Award nomination earlier this year alongside Daggerheart and Starfinder. Sanderson's UK fans are well served, with new books regularly hitting the Sunday Times bestseller list, and the Cosmere RPG is already available through UK distribution. If your group has been waiting for an excuse to start a Cosmere campaign, find a group of Sanderson fans near you and start plotting.
