Mantic Games has opened preorders on two fresh grand armies for Epic Warpath, its 10mm sci-fi mass battle game. The Veer-myn rat-things and the Marauder savages have both landed at £70 a Core Army, with reinforcement boxes and oversized monstrosities ready to follow.

See how it worksEpic Warpath itself is the small-scale spin-off of Mantic's Warpath universe, designed for the kind of sprawling battles that don't fit on a normal kitchen table. The original Kickstarter funded in 26 minutes back in February 2024 and finished at £396,198 from 2,532 backers, so there's a healthy player base waiting for the next wave. Mantic, for the unfamiliar, is the Nottingham-based outfit behind Kings of War and Halo Flashpoint, and they tend to undercut Games Workshop on price by a noticeable margin.
The Veer-myn Core Army leans into burrowing chaos, with units like Stalkers and Tunnelers built from ramshackle technology, plus the £25 Technonest centrepiece. Reinforcements add Brood Guard and Night Terrors. Marauders go heavier, pairing infantry like Commandos, Brawlers and Ripper Maulers with the monstrous Wolfcrawler Mech and Mawbeast pack animals. Both factions will appeal to anyone who fancies the look of Skaven or Orks but doesn't fancy the GW price tag.

Mantic say everything ships in April, just in time to be properly painted before UKGE in May.
