Marvel is crashing into Magic: The Gathering this week. The Universes Beyond set Marvel Super Heroes hits shelves on 26 June 2026, and prerelease events are already running from 19 to 25 June, so your local game shop is probably cracking packs right now.
Run game nights? Backseat Gamer handles RSVPs, waitlists, date polling, and game voting so you can focus on playing.
Start organising for freeThe headline, and the talking point that will divide tables, is that these are not just novelty cards. Marvel Super Heroes is a full Standard-legal set, legal in every format, so Spider-Man, Thanos and the rest can turn up in serious competitive decks. That follows 2025's Spider-Man set, the first Marvel crossover, and continues Wizards' run of leaning hard into outside properties. Whether you love seeing the Avengers shuffled into Magic or wish the multiverse would stay in its own lane, this one is hard to ignore.
There is a product for every kind of player. Four Commander decks lead the way, Avengers Assemble, Wakanda Forever, The Fantastic Four and Doom Prevails, at $74.99 (about £59) each, with premium Collector's Editions around $159.99. Two Scene Boxes let you pick a side, with Heroes United fronted by Hulk, Thor, Iron Man and Captain Marvel, and Villains Unleashed bringing Thanos, M.O.D.O.K., Kang and Loki. There is also a Beginner Box built to teach the game from scratch.
Stop juggling Meetup, WhatsApp, and spreadsheets. One platform for your gaming group's events, RSVPs, and member management.
See how it worksIf you are a lapsed Magic player tempted back by the capes, or a Marvel fan who has never shuffled a deck, getting started is easy. Grab a Beginner Box, round up a few friends and you have a game night sorted.
