UK tabletop news site Tabletop Sentinel has bagged a properly heavyweight signing. Angus Abranson, the man who co-founded Cubicle 7 and spent years running London's Dragonmeet, has joined as News Editor and is now driving the site's daily coverage.

Abranson co-founded Cubicle 7, the publisher behind The One Ring, Doctor Who Roleplaying Game and the current Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay line. He also ran Dragonmeet for years, the friendly London RPG convention that returned to Kensington Town Hall this April with its Call to Adventure spin-off. Along the way he picked up ENnies and Origins Awards, wrote for British staples Adventurer and Valkyrie magazines, and clocked over thirty years working as a designer, publisher and retailer.
It's a good get for a site that has quietly become one of the better daily news options for UK readers since Dicebreaker's slow fade following the IGN takeover of Gamer Network in 2024. Tabletop Sentinel's founder Steev Initsix announced the hire alongside a raft of site upgrades, including a redesigned login, a revamped post editor, and tagging for AI-generated, NSFW or spoiler-heavy posts.

Set up your group for freeFor UK board gamers, this matters because dedicated British-perspective coverage has been thin on the ground for a couple of years. With UKGE 2026 round the corner and Spiel des Jahres nominations dropping on 19 May, having someone with Abranson's contacts editing the news desk should mean better coverage of the stories that actually affect what hits UK shop shelves.
