Fresh off a video game sequel that has sold around six million copies, medieval Bohemia is heading to the tabletop, and it is not cheap. Kingdom Come: Deliverance – The Board Game is now open for pre-order direct from Czech Games Edition, priced at $199.99 (roughly £155), with copies expected in the final quarter of 2026.

Designed by Tomáš Holek and Vlaada Chvátil, it drops one to four players into 15th-century Bohemia to build a character through skill cards and equipment, then chase quests across three cities chosen from a pool of ten. CGE pitches it as an open-world adventure blended with euro-style efficiency, where each run creates its own story out of the merchants, inns and encounters you stumble into. It also runs long: budget around 90 minutes per player, so a full four-player table is closer to a six-hour sitting than an evening filler.
The pedigree is the draw. Czech Games Edition is the Kladno studio behind some of the hobby's most-played designs, and Chvátil is the mind behind Codenames, which won the Spiel des Jahres in 2016, and the civilisation heavyweight Through the Ages. Warhorse Studios' gritty, grounded RPG world, meanwhile, earned a clutch of Game of the Year nominations after its February 2025 launch. Marrying the two is a tempting prospect for anyone who likes their history without dragons.
