If you have ever eyed Frosthaven's enormous box and thought "I love this game, I just do not love the bookkeeping," here is your way in. The digital version of Frosthaven, Isaac Childres' sprawling cooperative dungeon-crawler, leaves early access and gets its full 1.0 release on 15 October 2026, on both Steam and the Epic Games Store.
Stop juggling Meetup, WhatsApp, and spreadsheets. One platform for your gaming group's events, RSVPs, and member management.
See how it worksSnapshot Games has been building the adaptation, published by Arc Games, in early access since July 2025, so the full launch caps more than a year of tuning. The 1.0 version brings the complete story campaign, all 17 playable heroes, a new cinematic introduction, customisable house rules and improved online co-op. In other words, everything the tabletop epic offers, minus the hours of card sorting, sticker peeling and upkeep tracking that the physical box is famous for.
Frosthaven is the standalone follow-up to Gloomhaven, one of the most celebrated cooperative games of the last decade, and the video game keeps the same tactical, hand-management combat where every card you play is also a resource you burn. Board game designer Isaac Childres worked with the studio on the port, and the digital version keeps faith with the box while quietly doing all the fiddly sums for you. If you have never had the table space, the shelf space or the group stamina for the vast physical campaign, this is the gentler route into the Frozen North.

If the digital version rekindles your appetite for the cardboard original, round up a group and clear your calendar, because Frosthaven does not do short evenings.
