You place markers at dig sites to claim cards of dinosaurs, flying reptiles and giant mammals, and each card carries a handy ability while it is in your hand. The catch is that scoring points means displaying those fossils in your exhibit, and a displayed card loses its ability for good.

Hold on too long and rivals snap up the fossils you needed, exhibit too early and you give up your engine. Space Cowboys cheerfully calls it an "engine unbuilding" game, which sums up the backwards logic nicely.
