If you have ever watched Batman: The Animated Series and quietly rooted for the Rogues Gallery, Upper Deck has made a game for you. Enemies of Gotham City is a 2-5 player area-control game where you play a villain from the show and fight to run the city, and it is up for preorder now ahead of an expected release at the end of July.
Run game nights? Backseat Gamer handles RSVPs, waitlists, date polling, and game voting so you can focus on playing.
Start organising for freeThe twist is that nobody here is trying to save Gotham. Each player picks one of 12 asymmetric villains, from the Joker and Harley Quinn to Mr. Freeze, and every one plays to its own rhythm. You lay down power cards to seize the city's districts, pull in income and juggle resources, all in service of the only currency that counts here: Infamy. Whoever has amassed the most when scoring hits comes out on top. Batman and his allies do not just watch it happen, sending goons after your henchmen and threatening to drop your villain into Arkham Asylum through a physical cube tower on the table.
There is a serious design team behind the chaos. It includes Daryl Andrews, co-designer of the stained-glass dice-drafter Sagrada, working alongside Maximillian Dennis and Morgan Dontanville. The base box is a hefty one, packing 22 figures and 165 cards, and a Knight on the Town expansion brings in four more rogues: the Riddler, Killer Croc, the Phantasm and Man-Bat.

If your table has a soft spot for the Animated Series, round up your usual suspects, sort out a game night and settle who gets to be the Joker before anyone else does.
