The heavier-Euro crowd has a new reason to head back below the surface. Endeavor: Deep Sea, the ocean-exploration game that won the Kennerspiel des Jahres 2025, is getting its first expansion. Uncharted Waters is crowdfunding now on Kickstarter from Burnt Island Games, and it promises deeper dives, tougher missions and a fresh crew of specialists.
Run game nights? Backseat Gamer handles RSVPs, waitlists, date polling, and game voting so you can focus on playing.
Start organising for freeIf you missed the base game, Endeavor: Deep Sea is a mid-weight Euro for 1 to 4 players where you build an engine, manage your crew and explore the ocean floor, all wrapped in a theme about studying the deep sea rather than plundering it. Designed by Carl de Visser and Jarratt Gray, it beat Faraway and Looot to Germany's connoisseur game award last summer, roughly the board gaming equivalent of a BAFTA for meatier titles.
Uncharted Waters leans into that ecological angle. Alongside new missions and higher-tier specialist tiles, the expansion adds mini-modules built around saving endangered marine wildlife, pushing into deeper waters and restoring the balance of the ecosystem. It is an add-on rather than a standalone, so you will need the original box to dive in.
Stop juggling Meetup, WhatsApp, and spreadsheets. One platform for your gaming group's events, RSVPs, and member management.
See how it worksThe campaign is live, with copies expected to reach backers later in 2026. If Deep Sea has been a regular at your table, this is the natural next step, and a good excuse to get the group back together.
