Dropout's Game Changer Board Game Smashes $5M on Kickstarter

A $40,000 Kickstarter now sitting above $5 million tells you how badly people wanted this one. Game Changer: Home Edition turns Dropout's chaotic comedy competition show into an actual party game for your table, and it has become one of 2026's runaway crowdfunding stories.

Stop juggling Meetup, WhatsApp, and spreadsheets. One platform for your gaming group's events, RSVPs, and member management.

See how it works

Launched on 5 May by Dropout and fronted by host Sam Reich, the campaign hit $350,000 within 15 minutes and has since passed $5 million from more than 34,000 backers, over 12,000% of its modest target.

For anyone who has not fallen down the Game Changer rabbit hole, the show drops contestants into a different game every episode without telling them the rules first. The home version cannot quite spring that on you, so instead it bundles three of the show's best-loved formats: a word-guessing take on Bingo, the betting game Name a Number, and the reaction game Sam Says. You split into two teams and play head to head, complete with little point podiums. Reich has stayed coy about whether a Sam figurine is in the box.

This is a party game in the Wavelength or Wits & Wagers mould, built for big laughs with a group rather than deep strategy, which is exactly what a casual game night wants. Dropout has a devoted following on this side of the Atlantic too, and the studio has hinted that a home game based on its Dungeons & Dragons show Dimension 20 could follow.

Delivery is further down the line, but with pledges closing on 6 June, this is one to earmark now, then round up the players.
