Dead by Daylight Board Game Adds Solo and Co-Op Modes

Good news if you love the Dead by Daylight board game but can never wrangle five people to the table. Its next expansion finally adds solo and co-op modes, and it lands on Gamefound on 16 June 2026.

Until now, Level 99 Games' adaptation of Behaviour Interactive's hit horror game has been a purely competitive affair, one killer hunting a team of survivors across a darkened map. The new Auris Box changes that with three fresh formats. Survive Alone is a tight two-player mode, Survive Together pits a co-op team against an automated killer, and Kill Alone flips it so a solo player hunts four automated survivors. That opens the game up to solo players and smaller groups for the first time.

The box also brings new blood. There's a new killer, the Houndmaster, a new survivor in Taurie Cain, and two extra maps to stalk through. The Auris Box itself doubles as a 10th-anniversary storage solution, big enough to hold the base game plus the Unbroken, Gatekeeper, Malicious and Lightbringer expansions in one place.

For the uninitiated, Dead by Daylight is an asymmetric hide-and-seek of nerve and timing, where survivors repair generators and sprint for the exits while the killer tries to hook them one by one. The board game recreates that cat-and-mouse for three to five players, and the new automated modes mean you no longer need a full lobby to feel the dread.

The Gamefound campaign opens on 16 June. If trapping your mates in a horror film sounds like a good Friday night, find a group to play with.
