Catvale Sends Adventuring Cats to Kickstarter on 8 August

Cat games have practically become their own genre, but Catvale is swinging for something bigger than a cute card game. It is a sprawling sandbox adventure where rival cats explore, build and brawl across an ever-changing map, and it opens on Kickstarter on 8 August 2026.

Made by Polish studio FUdice, Catvale drops two to six players into a world stitched together from hexagonal tiles, so no two games lay out the same way. On your turn you spend dice-driven actions to roam the map, gather resources, build structures, complete quests, trade, or pick a fight with another cat. The goal is prestige, and there are several routes to it, from cosy construction to outright scrapping. Games run a meaty 90 to 180 minutes, so this is a settle-in-for-the-evening sort of cat, not a quick filler.

That semi-sandbox structure is the appeal. Plenty of adventure games funnel you down a fixed path, whereas Catvale hands you a toolbox and lets you decide how to win. The modular board means the layout changes every time, which should keep the game feeling fresh well past the first few plays.

FUdice has put its campaign page up early, so you can follow along before launch and sign up for the on-launch notification. The studio is promising Kickstarter backers a special edition with extra bits, plus early access ahead of any retail release.

The campaign goes live on 8 August. If a long, chunky adventure game sounds like your group's idea of a good night, it is worth setting a reminder, then rallying your regular players so you have a table ready when it lands.
