Six-Sided Seas Sails to Tables With Pirate Dice Brawls

Pirates, dice, and a 15-minute brawl over the horizon. Solis Game Studio has confirmed Six-Sided Seas for 10 August 2026, a small-box pirate dice game built specifically for two players that should slot neatly into game nights crowded with bigger boxes.

Stop juggling Meetup, WhatsApp, and spreadsheets. One platform for your gaming group's events, RSVPs, and member management.

See how it works

The pitch is straightforward. Roll dice to recruit crew for your ship, but get greedy and you bust. Place those crewmates onto stations, where each station demands specific dice numbers to activate. Players sink rivals, plunder islands, and stack gold across three different routes to victory, so one opening move does not lock in the rest of the game.

Solis is positioning it as a push-your-luck worker placement game, a combination Wolfgang Warsch popularised with Quacks of Quedlinburg back in 2018 (Kennerspiel des Jahres winner that year). Six-Sided Seas shrinks the idea to a 15-20 minute duel, with a slim playmat that takes up less space than most worker placement boards.

The base box plays two for $24.95 (about £19), and Solis is offering a four-player bundle with two copies for $49.90. Ages 14 and up. Retail copies start shipping to stores in July ahead of the August launch, with pre-orders open now via the Solis Game Studio shop.

If your group has already chewed through Quacks and Welcome To… and wants the next quick filler with bite, this is one to put on the radar. Got two friends who fancy throwing dice on a Tuesday night? Find a game night near you on Backseat Gamer.
