If you wore out the Wingspan app during lockdown, here's your next obsession. Wyrmspan is coming to Steam. Monster Couch, the studio behind the well-loved 2020 digital version of Wingspan, is teaming up with Stonemaier Games again to bring the dragon-themed spin-off to PC.

Start organising for freeWyrmspan is an engine-building, card-driven strategy game for one to five players. Instead of attracting birds to a reserve, you play an amateur dracologist excavating caves, coaxing dragons into your sanctuary and chaining their abilities into satisfying combos. Stonemaier released the physical game in March 2024; it was designed by Connie Vogelmann, developed by Wingspan creator Elizabeth Hargrave and illustrated by Clementine Campardou. It shares Wingspan's relaxing, tableau-building feel while adding its own cave-digging and Dragon Guild systems.
That Wingspan pedigree is worth spelling out. Wingspan won the 2019 Kennerspiel des Jahres, Germany's prize for the year's best enthusiast game, and went on to become one of the biggest board game hits of the past decade. Monster Couch's app version is a big part of why so many people kept playing it.
