Mindclash Games has wrapped up its Kickstarter campaign for Voidfall: Resurgence, the first major expansion for the acclaimed space 4X euro game. The 16-day campaign closed on April 2 with €1,435,184 pledged by 9,558 backers, nearly matching the original Voidfall campaign's total.
The expansion centres on Psionics, individuals who channel corruption energy into devastating mental abilities. Three of the six new Houses are built specifically around this mechanic, which introduces a Psionic Agenda Deck of reusable ability cards, one-time combat tokens for Psionic Strikes and defensive Barriers, and Psionic Vanguards that can be deployed to sectors for high-risk tactical manoeuvres.
Voidfall, designed by Nigel Buckle and Dávid Turczi, currently holds an 8.5 rating on BoardGameGeek. It earned praise for replacing the luck-heavy combat typical of 4X games with deterministic, puzzle-like decision-making. Resurgence builds on that foundation with 12 new technologies introducing fresh fleet types, installations, and guilds, plus new scenarios and special sectors.
The campaign also offered a reprint of the Galactic Box, the all-in edition with miniatures and optimised storage, giving newcomers a chance to jump in. Alongside the expansion content, Mindclash included a community-created 1-2 player campaign and expanded co-op and solo modes. Estimated delivery is in 2027.
