Vision Actor Paul Bettany Unveils MTG Mind Stone in Vegas

Magic: The Gathering's upcoming Marvel Super Heroes set just picked up the Marvel Cinematic Universe stamp of approval in person. Paul Bettany, the actor behind Vision in the films, surprised fans during the opening panel at MagicCon Las Vegas 2026 by walking on stage to unveil The Mind Stone. (He was keen to remind everyone the "The" is part of the card name.)

The card is a two-mana indestructible Legendary Artifact that taps for white mana, with a six-mana Harness ability that flickers one of your nonland permanents at end of turn so its enter-the-battlefield trigger fires again. It comes in standard, borderless and full-art treatments. Bettany capped the reveal by clicking a Mind Stone gem into a prop Infinity Gauntlet, which has fans theorising that an Infinity Gauntlet card is lurking somewhere in the set. Wizards isn't confirming, but the visual hint is hard to miss.

Vision also appears on a second card called Vision, Synthezoid Avenger, one of four heroes expected to anchor preconstructed Commander decks alongside Captain America, Doctor Doom, Mister Fantastic and Black Panther. The full set lands on 26 June 2026, with prereleases at participating game shops from 19 June.

This is the most aggressive Universes Beyond crossover Wizards has run yet. It follows hits like Doctor Who, Fallout and Final Fantasy, and slots in just before The Hobbit set in August. For UK players, prerelease boxes typically run £30 to £35 for six packs, with Commander decks around £40. Most game shops are already taking pre-orders.
