If your group likes its horror slow and dread-soaked, Officina Meningi has given you a reason to clear an evening. Totem: Tales from the Dark is a new 72-page expansion for the original Totem RPG, the Italian studio's rules-light ghost-story game, and it's up for pre-order now at €15 (around £13). It bundles five fresh adventures, and one of them can be run across several tables at once.

Start organising for freeTotem is built for people who don't want to wade through a rulebook. The base game resolves challenges with a simple coin flip and is pitched at two-to-three-hour one-shots, drawing on the classics of the genre from Poltergeist to The Ring and Silent Hill. The original, designed by Valentino Sergi and Atropo Kelevra, swept four No Dice Unrolled Awards, taking Game of the Year, Best Mechanics, Best Setting and Best Art, and it was shortlisted for Best RPG at the UK Games Expo 2026 Judges' Awards.
The five new adventures run through classic horror territory, including a set of Venetian ghost stories. The standout is "The Last Ritual", set in Japan's infamous Aokigahara forest, which is built to be played either as a normal campaign or as a multi-table event, with several groups sharing the same haunting at once. That's an unusual trick for a horror RPG and a natural fit for a club night or a one-off scare-fest. The new adventures come from a team led by series creators Sergi and Kelevra.
