If you missed the StarCraft: Tabletop Miniatures Game sellout at AdeptiCon 2026, the retail preorder window is your second chance, and it closes on 17 April. Archon Studio's partnership with Blizzard has produced a full-scale miniatures wargame covering all three factions, and the Founders Edition pricing knocks a decent chunk off the eventual retail cost.
The Two-Player Starter Set pits Terran against Zerg and comes in at $199 during the preorder window, down from a $229 MSRP. It includes two complete armies, terrain, a playmat, dice, and tokens, so you have everything for a full game out of the box. The Protoss Starter Set is $109, reduced from $129. Bundling both starters runs $289, while the three-player all-in package sits at $749. These preorders are separate from the earlier Gamefound campaign, running specifically through the retail hobby channel.
Archon has mapped out five expansion waves running through the rest of 2026. Wave 1 shipped in March with the starter sets and individual unit boxes. Wave 2 arrives in June bringing the Siege Tank, Ravager, and Immortal. August delivers Wave 3 (High Templars, Defiler, Raven), October adds Wave 4 (Banshee, Mutalisk, Scout), and December rounds out the year with Firebats, Infested Marines, and the Dragoon. A narrative campaign written by Sam Pearson launches between Waves 3 and 4, giving the game a story-driven framework beyond standard skirmish play.
Retail availability follows roughly three months after each Founders Edition wave, so early adopters get a head start on building and painting. For gaming groups looking to coordinate StarCraft league nights, Backseat Gamer communities are a solid way to find local players. 17 April is the deadline. After that, you are waiting for full retail pricing.
