Skyjo Brings Its Quick Number Card Game to UK Shops

If you have spent time on game nights in Germany or France, you have very likely played Skyjo. The number-flipping card game is a fixture across Europe, and now it is getting a proper UK retail rollout. VR Distribution is bringing the Skyjo UK Edition to shops as part of its family and party range, with the game on show at UK Games Expo from 29 to 31 May.

Got a regular group? Create a private community, poll for the best date, vote on games, and let your friends RSVP in one place.

Skyjo is about keeping your score as low as possible. Each player has a grid of face-down number cards, and on your turn you flip, swap and combine them, working to offload the high numbers before anyone else clears out. The moment someone reveals their whole grid, the round ends and everyone tots up points. You play several rounds, and the lowest total wins. According to publisher Magilano, a game runs about 30 minutes, suits ages 8 and up, and stretches from two to eight players across 150 cards.

That player count is the quiet superpower here. Plenty of light games tap out at four or five, but Skyjo happily seats a big, mixed group, which makes it handy for family gatherings, the pub, or that awkward stretch while you wait for latecomers. It teaches in a minute and rewards a bit of cheeky risk-taking.

Stop juggling Meetup, WhatsApp, and spreadsheets. One platform for your gaming group's events, RSVPs, and member management.

Easier UK availability is genuinely useful, because this is the sort of crowd-pleaser organisers reach for again and again. If you are putting together a relaxed or family-friendly session, you can find or start a game night near you on Backseat Gamer and put all eight seats to use.
