Recall Hits UK Shelves as Revive Team's Follow-Up Lands

If you have been stalking Recall's BoardGameGeek page for months, good news: the copy is finally walking into UK shops. The debut release from Alion Games, a new Norwegian studio co-founded by Revive designer Kristian Amundsen Østby, has landed at Thirsty Meeples and Clownfish Games, with US distribution hitting retailers from 22 April via an exclusive deal with the revived Mayfair Games.

Recall is a 1-4 player strategy game about leading a tribe across uncharted lands to recover the traces of lost civilisations. You pick from 14 unique tribes and 18 gadgets at setup, then play through an action-selection engine where each turn either slots a keycard into an action space or pulls your keycards back to regenerate resources. The combinations let you populate territories, explore new regions and build workshops, vaults or monuments, and the choices reshape your strategy rather than just nudging it.

The pedigree explains the hype since Essen. Designers Helge Meissner, Anna Wermlund and Kristian Amundsen Østby all return from Revive, which sits at 8.1 on BGG and ranks among the top modern euros, with Kjetil Svendsen stepping in for Eilif Svensson on this outing. Recall sat at the top of the SPIEL Essen 2025 Hotness for nearly two weeks when it debuted at the Messe, and the Meeple Mountain review called it "very much worth your time." Expect around 90 minutes at a full table.

At around £70 it is firmly in heavy-euro territory, so it is the sort of game that wants a regular group and a Saturday afternoon. Need one? You can find a games night near you or start a community on Backseat Gamer.
