Politik Funds in Hours as a Fallen World Goes Up for Grabs

A brand-new grand-strategy game about carving up the ruins of civilisation has just proved there is still a big appetite for ambitious, table-hogging Euros. Politik, from Black Yeti Games, launched on Gamefound on 30 June 2026 and cleared its $100,000 (about £74,000) goal in roughly ten hours, closing its first day with more than 800 backers and over $102,000 pledged.

Stop juggling Meetup, WhatsApp, and spreadsheets. One platform for your gaming group's events, RSVPs, and member management.

See how it works

Politik hands each of its 2 to 6 players one of 12 nations, each with its own character, and sets them chasing power across three fronts: the battlefield, the ballot and the boardroom. You seize territory, orchestrate propaganda campaigns to swing the ruling council, and grow companies to corner markets, drawing on a deck of more than 500 unique cards. It is the sort of sprawling, do-everything strategy game you clear an evening for, with close to 1,200 components in the full box.

The publisher is also leaning hard into presentation, with premium wooden bits and hundreds of hand-drawn artworks that the team says took nearly four years to produce, none of it AI-generated.

The "no AI" stance is becoming a real dividing line in crowdfunding. Backers have grown sharp-eyed about generative art after several high-profile campaigns were called out for it, and studios that commission human illustrators are increasingly making that a selling point rather than an afterthought.

The campaign runs until 30 July 2026, so there is time to weigh it up rather than pledge on the opening-day rush. If you like your strategy games meaty, asymmetric and a little bit ruthless, Politik is one to watch, and it might be worth lining up a group who can commit to a big box before it lands.
