If you back small-box games, mark 7 May in your diary. Pocketopia 2026 returns to BackerKit with more than 50 portable, easy-to-learn tabletop games launching together, and last year's edition cleared $1 million across over 20,000 pledges, so the format clearly works.
Stop juggling Meetup, WhatsApp, and spreadsheets. One platform for your gaming group's events, RSVPs, and member management.
See how it worksThe hook is curation. Rather than scrolling through hundreds of disconnected campaigns, you get a hand-picked showcase grouped into five themed banners: Solo Ready Games, Family Friendly Games, Card Games, Tabletop Tavern (TTRPGs), and Quick & Thinky. Back three or more projects within the same banner and creators throw in exclusive freebies, things like dice, pins, stickers and patches. There are also paired "Cross-Collab" projects where backing both at a physical pledge level unlocks bonus goodies.
Notable picks already announced include Riposte! and Cell Block 18, a pair of two-player 18-card duels (one a fencing bluff game, the other an asymmetric prison-break), and The Roots of Soledad, a García Márquez-inspired set-collection card game. London-based Wotan Games is among the participating creators, focusing on gateway games with proper British humour. The campaigns run from 7 May through to 28 May.

Set up your group for freePocketopia leans into a specific gap: short, portable games that work in a pub or on a long train. If your group is the sort that meets in cafes or wedges in a quick game between courses at dinner, this is the format aimed squarely at you. And if you don't yet have a regular crew to play these with, find a game night near you and put one on the table.
