One Piece fans looking for a reason to gather round the table just got one. One Piece: Dawn of Liberation, a cooperative board game developed by KessCo in partnership with Toei Animation, is wrapping up its Kickstarter campaign tomorrow with over $319,000 raised from nearly 1,300 backers.
Dawn of Liberation adapts the Wano Arc into a narrative-driven cooperative adventure for 1-4 players. You form a crew using characters from the storyline, complete mission objectives, gather materials, and recruit allies as you build towards the climactic confrontation with Kaido. Sessions run several hours, but a built-in pause-and-resume system lets groups split the experience across multiple sittings without losing progress. Think of it less as a single game night and more as a campaign you come back to.
This is KessCo's second One Piece tabletop release after Luffy's Bento Panic, a lighter take on the franchise. Dawn of Liberation is a much bigger production, aimed at fans who want a full evening of cooperative play around one of anime's most beloved storylines. The Wano Arc, with its massive character roster, clear villain, and escalating stakes, maps well onto a tabletop campaign structure.
The campaign crushed its $10,000 goal within hours and has cruised to over 31 times its target. Shipping is expected later this year, with playable demos planned for Origins 2026 in June. If you have a gaming group that also happens to be a Straw Hat crew, the campaign closes April 3.
