Most pick-up-and-deliver games ask you to plan an efficient route. Ice and Idols makes that harder by spinning the board and shuffling the paths around while you are mid-plan, and it is now reaching UK shops in time for UK Games Expo 2026.

Set up your group for freeDesigned by Mat Hanson for Canadian studio Inside Up Games, this is a medium-weight game for two to four players that runs around 45 to 60 minutes. You are explorers picking through an ancient temple buried in ice, where the central board rotates and pathway tiles shift between turns, so the labyrinth never quite stays put. You navigate those changing routes to discover magical idols and unlock their powers, with each explorer wielding a unique ability that bends the board a different way.
Inside Up has form here. The studio is behind the well-liked Block and Key, a 3D puzzle of excavating blocks and slotting them into a temple floor, so it knows its way around a spatial brain-teaser. Ice and Idols raised over 75,000 Canadian dollars from more than 900 backers on Kickstarter in autumn 2024 and is now landing at retail, with UK stockists such as Zatu listing it around the 40 pound mark.
Stop juggling Meetup, WhatsApp, and spreadsheets. One platform for your gaming group's events, RSVPs, and member management.
See how it worksIf you fancy a thinky hour that keeps redrawing the map under your feet, look for it on the Inside Up stand (4-302) at the show, or rally your group and find a game night to break it out.
