Hasbro, the parent company of Wizards of the Coast and publisher behind Dungeons & Dragons, Magic: The Gathering, and a huge chunk of the board gaming world, has been hit by a cyberattack.
First, the good news: D&D Beyond was not affected and is running normally. If your campaign is mid-session, you're fine.
The breach itself was detected on March 28, when Hasbro found unauthorised access to its network. The company disclosed the incident in an SEC filing on April 1, confirmed it had taken systems offline as a precaution, and brought in a third-party cybersecurity firm to investigate. Recovery could take "several weeks," according to the filing, and whether any customer data was compromised remains unclear.
Hasbro has implemented business continuity plans and says it is working to take orders and ship products, but several reports indicate the disruption has caused delays to ordering and shipping systems. The company acknowledged that its interim security measures may slow things down further.
The longer-term question is whether any disruption lingers into the summer, when Hasbro's 2026 calendar gets busy with Magic set releases and new D&D products. Any supply chain hiccups at that point would be felt across the hobby.
This is one to watch, particularly if you have pre-orders through Hasbro's own channels.
