Emerland keeps the worker placement and tableau building that made the original a modern classic (it sits in BGG's top 50 with tens of thousands of ratings), but adds several ideas that set it apart. Cards are now double-sided and can be upgraded during play, giving your engine-building choices a new layer of depth. An archaeologist track hands out bonuses and victory points as players push deeper into the jungle. Emerland is part of Everdell's "Edge of the Map" series, which explores wilder corners of the world beyond the familiar valley. This entry is set in a land known for its artistic culture and abundant natural resources, particularly the valuable gems mined from its underground caverns. The game supports 1-4 players and, like the rest of the series, blends worker placement with engine building in a gorgeous production.
