Cult of the Lamb, the gleefully creepy video game about running a woodland cult, is being turned into a board game, and UK Games Expo 2026 is where you will get your first proper look at it. Even better for British players: it is being made right here in the UK.

Start organising for freeCult of the Lamb: The Board Game is an official adaptation from Nottingham studio Paper Fort Games. It is built for up to 4 players, each taking the role of a prophet, the Lamb, the Goat, the Owl or the Snake, racing to build the most devoted flock of woodland worshippers. Play splits into two halves that mirror the video game. On crusades, your prophet dives into dungeons to battle heretics and take on the bishops of the Old Faith, using iconic weapons and enemies from the source material. Back at base, it becomes a worker-placement game, with followers sent to worship, work or wander to keep your cult growing.
The original Cult of the Lamb came from indie studio Massive Monster and publisher Devolver Digital, and it was nominated for a BAFTA, so the board game has a well-loved property to live up to. Paper Fort already has form here: the studio is behind Terraria: The Board Game, which is shipping to backers now and will be on sale at the show.

Set up your group for freePaper Fort plans to bring Cult of the Lamb: The Board Game to Kickstarter in 2026, but UK Games Expo, running 29 to 31 May at the NEC in Birmingham, is the first chance to see it in the cardboard. If you are heading to the show, the Paper Fort stand is worth a detour. Sorting out the trip with your group? See who else is going.
