If your group cant agree which console reigned supreme in the 90s, Console Wars: The Card Game is heading back to UK Games Expo to settle it the petty way. Designed by XboxEra co-founder Jon Clarke, the satirical card game returns to Birminghams NEC at stand 3A-435 with copies priced below Amazon, a fresh batch of DLC expansion packs, and a limited-edition shiny SPONSORED card.

Set up your group for freeFor 2 to 5 players, Console Wars puts you in charge of a gluttonous AAA games company drafting franchises, sabotaging rival platforms, and weathering chaotic global events that can crater a release window overnight. First player to complete four genre sets wins. Games typically last 30 to 45 minutes, making it a tidy filler with the spirit of Munchkin-style player sabotage rather than a dry economic strategy.
The game came out in May 2025 after a $42K Kickstarter and has been quietly building a UK following at shows since. The XboxEra crew (the same gaming community site behind the project) have been hand-selling copies and arguing platform politics with anyone who will listen. The SPONSORED promo card is the kind of bonus only worth grabbing in person, and the discounted bundles plus DLC drops make UKGE the cheapest place to catch up on the game in 2026.
