If four days of cosmic horror, Bronze Age Glorantha and Arthurian quests under one roof sounds like your kind of bank holiday, Chaosium Con UK is back at Cranfield Management Development Centre from 21-24 May, and the 2026 theme is firmly Vikings.

Set up your group for freeRun by Chaosium, the publisher behind Call of Cthulhu (now in its 50th year and arguably the most-played horror RPG ever), RuneQuest and King Arthur Pendragon, the convention is the British leg of a three-stop tour the publisher runs across America, Australia and the UK. This year's outing returns to Cranfield in Bedfordshire, the same Management Development Centre that hosted the 2025 show, and the programme leans hard on longships, sagas and shieldwalls.
The schedule mixes player-focused gaming sessions with VIP slots run by Chaosium creators themselves, plus seminars and panels, the Chaosium Collectibles Auction (always good for picking up out-of-print Mythos hardbacks) and a Great Market stuffed with Chaosium titles and licensee goods. There's also a dedicated LARP, which is rapidly becoming a Chaosium Con tradition, and a marketplace for third-party publishers working in the company's settings.

Find events near youEvent registration has been live since 21 March and tickets are still available, with organisers slotting in extra games as the date approaches. Game Masters who submit 12 hours of approved events bag themselves a GM Badge, which is a nice perk if you've got a campaign you've been wanting to run for new players. Rooms can be booked at the venue itself by emailing [email protected] and quoting reference 463924.
If you're already heading to Cranfield, bringing your local Cthulhu group along is half the fun. Spin up a community event on Backseat Gamer and rally your crew before the LARP swallows everyone whole.
